St. Anna Hospice has made it its duty to support people of all ages on their difficult and final journey. When all medical and therapeutic endeavours cannot cure and illness unceasingly progresses, patients and their families are often left with only despair and a certain helplessness in the face of that which lies in front of them. When care and medical measures are no longer possible at home, families reach their psychological and physiological limits. It is these people that the hospice wishes to help.
A highly qualified staff is available to the patient, made up of carers, ministers, therapists, voluntary helpers, general practitioners and palliative doctors. Every member of staff has the requisite sensitivity, qualifications and the necessary commitment in order not only to master this challenge professionally and technocratically, but also ethically and humanely.
Although not all the aptitude in the world can replace the character of a familiar environment, there are five comfortably furnished air-conditioned visiting rooms for the patient and the patient's family that are designed to convey an atmosphere of comfort and intimacy.
The staff at St. Anna Hospice support the patient and family with human care, attention and honesty.
Through their commitment they have already enabled many people to have a self-determined and dignified life up until death.
Integrated in a network of palliative medical institutions the St. Anna Foundation ensures inpatient hospice care in the Oldenburg Münsterland region and beyond. In cooperation with the palliative departments of hospitals in Damme, Cloppenburg and Thuine, and the Breast Centre at St. Marienhospital in Vechta, the St. Anna Foundation has made a decisive contribution to the conceptual implementation of the expansion of palliative care in the federal state of Lower Saxony.
The hospice shall continue to be committed to its ambitions and aims to provide its terminally ill fellow humans with a place where the dying process can take place in a humanistic and ethically justifiable manner.
