Biochem Supports Lohne Prevention Council, St. Anna Foundation Dinklage and Janusz Korczak School in Wolgast with €30,000.
Biochem thanks guests and employees for their anniversary donations and supports three local social projects in Lohne, Dinklage and Wolgast.
LOHNE, Germany – October 7, 2026 – As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, Biochem raised donations for local community projects and is providing a total of €30,000 to support the Lohne Prevention Council, Hospiz-Stiftung Dinklage and the Janusz Korczak School in Wolgast. The official handover to representatives of the local organisations took place last week at the company’s headquarters in Lohne, where Biochem’s management personally presented the funds. This financial support was made possible by generous donations from guests and employees, who chose to forgo anniversary gifts and actively supported the fundraising appeal.
The funds will be used during the coming school year to implement an important pilot project aimed at strengthening young people’s resilience at Gymnasium Lohne, support the valuable work of the hospice service operated by Hospiz-Stiftung Dinklage, and fund the purchase of a new football cage or large ball-stop net for the Janusz Korczak School in Wolgast. The official handover of the donation to the Janusz Korczak School will take place in Lohne in November.
The educational support at Gymnasium Lohne focuses on “Change History”, a prevention programme initiated by the Lohne Prevention Council and developed by Daniel El Khatib. The programme specifically addresses self-esteem, social skills, civic participation and conflict management, helping students navigate a crucial stage of their development. Following the successful completion of the pilot phase, the programme is planned to be expanded to all eighth-grade classes at secondary schools in the city.
Hospiz-Stiftung Dinklage will use the donation specifically to support its outpatient, day hospice and inpatient hospice service. The aim is to provide seriously ill and dying people, as well as their families, with professional support, dignity and a protected place to live during a sensitive stage of life.
The funds donated to the Janusz Korczak School in Wolgast will finance a new football cage or large ball-stop net for the school playground, replacing the existing temporary barriers. As football promotes physical activity, team spirit and a sense of community in everyday school life, the project will create a safe and attractive opportunity for sports activities during breaks.
The donations for the Lohne Prevention Council were accepted on behalf of the organisation by Andrea Marré (Managing Director), Andreas Arkenau (Treasurer) and Walter Sieveke (Assessor); in addition, Gerrit Pape (Project Manager) and Noel Aszmons (School Social Worker) accepted the donation for Gymnasium Lohne. On behalf of the St. Anna Foundation, Andrea Mäkel (Board Member), Karin Buchholz (outpatient hospice service), Werner Schulze (Hospiz-Stiftung Dinklage) and Ellen Meejans-Eilers (St. Anna Inpatient Hospice) received the donations
“Youth programmes and hospice care are essential pillars of a compassionate society, providing people with support during crucial stages of life,” said Dr Heiko Greimann, Managing Director of Biochem. “By supporting these initiatives, we are investing directly in community and local responsibility. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our guests and employees whose generosity made this initiative possible.”
The fundraising initiative underlines the company’s long-standing commitment to safety, child protection and social responsibility.
