Product Benefits.

Modes of Action.

Our effective range of feed additives and dietary feed supplements are specifically selected and developed to support animal health and productivity.

Immune Modulation

Microbial molecules stimulate immune function resulting in better immune regulation, response, and defense. Overall, this enhances the resistance to harmful bacteria and related infections.

Passive Immunity

Before gut closure in newborns, immunoglobulins are absorbed through the intestinal wall to provide immunity for the first weeks of life. Drives the maturation of systemic active and passive immunity.

Competitive Exclusion

Outcompeting other germs for resources such as nutrients, space, or binding sites. This mechanism reduces the risk of non-beneficial or pathogenic overgrowth.

Provides Energy

Animals require high quality energy in times of reduced feed intake, or during resource-heavy processes like growth, production, recovery, or high stress to remain in a positive energy balance.

Local Immunity

Unabsorbed immunoglobulins can neutralize pathogens and other antigens in the intestine according to the lock-and-key model.

Direct Pathogen Inhibition

Due to probiotic-driven substances like cyclic peptides or organic acids that directly reduce or prevent growth of harmful bacteria by disrupting membranes or cellular processes.

Reinforced Intestinal Barrier

Strengthening of mucosal linings by supporting tight junction formation, immune response, epithelial regeneration, and mucous secretion. This mechanism prevents harmful substances from entering the blood system.

Targeted Support

A targeted combination of vitamins and/or minerals can support various metabolic, hormonal, and immunological processes in times of increased demand and compensate possible deficiencies.

Increasing a sow’s litter size has long been a goal of producers but has had a negative impact on piglet viability. Adequate colostrum intake immediately after birth is therefore crucial—it not only provides much needed energy, but also provides the building blocks to support the development of passive immune defense.

The main causes of early piglet mortality are lack of immunity and energy reserves. As such, Piglet Protector® is a dietary supplement specially formulated with vital components to provide the support needed for newborn piglets to thrive.

Piglet Protector® contains B.I.O.Ig—a high-quality bovine colostrum that benefits the immune system and health of newborn piglets. Bovine colostrum supplementation has been shown to improve intestinal health, structure, and function, growth performance, modulate the immune system, and balance the gut microbiota.

Piglet Protector® is also formulated with a combination of carefully selected probiotic strains. This powerful blend of spore-forming and lactic acid-producing probiotics ensure rapid colonization of the gut, helping to prevent the overgrowth of harmful bacteria. These probiotics help to stabilize the gut microbiota, promote gut eubiosis, improve gut health, and improve nutrient digestibility.

Piglet Protector® is also formulated with B.I.O. Key® organic trace minerals. These trace minerals are more stable at the low pH values in the digestive tract. This reduces the release of free metal ions and antagonistic effects, resulting in an overall increased bioavailability.

Newborn piglets have very low energy reserves. The medium-chain triglycerides in Piglet Protector® provide an easily digested and highly available source of energy, essential for young piglet growth. A selection of vitamins is included to support immune function and optimal metabolic processes.

Piglet Protector® is specifically designed for small, weak piglets to support the development of a balanced microbiota and help reduce piglet mortality. Ensure your piglets get a strong start in life with Piglet Protector®!

Managing Large Litters

Managing Large Litters.

Breeding progress has delivered bigger litters—but not without costs. Sow breeding goals have changed over the past few decades with a focus on selecting higher ovulation rates and large litter sizes. Not only does this place increased demand and pressure on sows, but large litters increase birth weight variabilityt, competition at the udder, and pre-weaning losses. This newsletter explains practical, science-based ways to support sow health, colostrum and milk supply, and early piglet care. You’ll also see how water-based delivery and farm-individual feeding concepts can boost uniformity and weaning success.
