Lactic Acid Production

Multifunctional organic acid that contributes to overall health by supporting a balanced gut microbiome, intestinal integrity, and immune homeostasis.

Enzyme Production

Probiotic-produced digestive enzymes such as proteases, carbohydrases, and lipases improve feed breakdown which enhances nutrient availability, nutrient absorption, and feed efficiency.

Direct Pathogen Inhibition

Due to probiotic-driven substances like cyclic peptides or organic acids that directly reduce or prevent growth of harmful bacteria by disrupting membranes or cellular processes.

Osmoregulation

Functions to help regulate osmotic pressure and maintain cellular homeostasis, particularly in response to environmental stressors. In the intestine, this function helps maintain intestinal integrity.

Competitive Exclusion

Outcompeting other germs for resources such as nutrients, space, or binding sites. This mechanism reduces the risk of non-beneficial or pathogenic overgrowth.

Pathogen Binding

The binding of Mannan-Oligosaccharides to cell surface structures of gram-negative pathogens reduces their ability of epithelial attachment and increases their elimination.

Product Description.

There is no question that weaning piglets is a stressful process. A naïve immune system, a developing intestinal tract, and numerous stressors—such as feed changes, separation, regrouping and transport—all affect a piglet’s health and vitality. A common outcome of this transition is post-weaning diarrhea, which can lead to reduced performance and often mortality, not to mention the economic impact. Among all the factors affected by the weaning transition, the alteration of the piglet gut microbiota is increasingly recognized as one of the key factors contributing to post-weaning diarrhea.

Bimulac® Weaner is specifically formulated with ingredients that have been well defined and researched to inhibit and bind pathogens and stimulate the immune system. Bimulac® Weaner is an on-farm strategy that utilizes the synergistic effects of prebiotics and probiotics. Tailored specifically to the weaned piglet, Bimulac® Weaner has been developed in collaboration with farmers and veterinarians to address this all-too-familiar problem in piglet rearing.

The probiotic in Bimulac® Weaner—TechnoSpore® Bacillus coagulans DSM 32016—is a revolutionary probiotic that combines the benefits of spore-forming and lactic acid-producing bacteria. B. coagulans DSM 32016 blends these different mechanisms of action to beneficially modulate the piglet microbiota. TechnoSpore® Bacillus coagulans DSM 32016 is the first and only B. coagulans to receive EU registration as a zootechnical feed additive.  

TechnoMos®, the prebiotic in Bimulac® Weaner, is the perfect complement to TechnoSpore®. TechnoMos® is derived from the yeast cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and has been selected for its high content of mannan-oligosaccharides and β-glucans. These components have been widely used in animal feeds with documented improvements in piglet performance. TechnoMos® supports a strong and stable gut microbiota, healthy gut function, and immune modulation.

Bimulac® Weaner can be easily and quickly added to those pens that are experiencing problems.
