Product Benefits.

Modes of Action.

Our effective range of feed additives and dietary feed supplements are specifically selected and developed to support animal health and productivity.

Co-factor

Trace minerals and vitamins are important co-factors in physiologic processes. Trace elements function as activators of antioxidant enzymes. Vitamins have numerous roles in biochemical functions.

Less Antagonistic Effects

In organically bound minerals the metals are protected against antagonistic effects like creating undesired bonds between other feed molecules.

Stable at Low pH Values

Because of the stability even at low pH values, there is less release of free metal ions in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Beneficial Absorption Rate

Effective transport to the intestinal wall leads to a higher absorption. Organically bound minerals have a superior bioavailability than inorganic minerals.

Magnesium is an essential mineral and is critical for raising healthy animals. Magnesium is an essential component of enzyme systems and is an activator of many other enzymes required for normal metabolism. It plays an important role in bone and tendon formation, energy metabolism, muscle and nerve function, immunity, and metabolism. Magnesium deficiency can manifest as reduced feed intake and growth rate, reduced milk, and egg yield, and as disorders like grass tetany, milk fever, and even seizures.

Despite the importance of magnesium, this important macromineral is often supplemented as inorganic magnesium. However, the absorption of inorganic magnesium in the small intestine can be impaired by antagonistic interactions with other feed ingredients and minerals. This results in unabsorbed magnesium not being absorbed but excreted in the feces.

B.I.O.Key® Magnesium is organically bound to lysine with numerous advantages over inorganic magnesium. The chelated structure allows greater stability at low pH values. Therefore, the release of free magnesium and the occurrence of antagonisms in the upper gastrointestinal tract are reduced. This allows a higher bioavailability of magnesium from B.I.O.Key® Magnesium in comparison to respective inorganic magnesium sources. Using B.I.O.Key® Magnesium means that magnesium is always available during times of increased demand or stress.

Magnesium is only a fraction of the total feed—but it makes all the difference! Magnesium can only provide nutritional value if it is absorbed. B.I.O.Key® Magnesium has been successfully used in high-performance animal feeds. B.I.O.Key® Magnesium is an easy choice!

The weaning transition is a critical window for piglet development. When feed intake drops, gut integrity follows, creating a cycle of poor performance. Our latest research explores how the umami-rich profile of Kluyveromyces fragilis provides a stable, natural foundation to maintain appetite and support immunity during this high-stress period.
