Bacillus coagulans DSM 32016 has been successfully tested under various conditions and in different animal species at research stations and practical farms worldwide. Trials in broilers showed a consistent improvement in feed conversion ratio, underlining the superior positive effects on digestive capacity.

Digestive Capacity: Key for Poultry Performance.

TechnoSpore® has been successfully tested under different conditions at research stations and practical farms worldwide. The results in broilers are promising and showing a direct increase in the profitability of the farm.

Broiler farmers’ goal is to produce high-performing birds by keeping them healthy and ensuring the production costs are under control. Considering that feed represents a large proportion of the total production costs, it is critical to ensure that the animals efficiently use and digest their feed. Therefore, the animal diet should be made of high-quality feedstuffs, be palatable, contain the right set of nutrients (protein, fat, etc.), and have the right particle size. Also, clean and fresh water is essential.

Sub-optimal Digestion.

However, the intestinal health in broiler is as vital as the diet itself. When intestinal cells are healthy, they form a barrier that keeps pathogens and toxins out of the bloodstream. At the same time, a healthy intestine absorbs nutrients more efficiently. With a malfunctioning or damaged gut, the nutrients cannot be absorbed efficiently, leading to the domination of pathogenic Clostridia and Enterobacteria like Clostridium perfringens, E. coli, or Salmonella spp. Generally, the real problem is an excess of nutrients and sub-optimal digestion in the hindgut, which causes the proliferation of these harmful microbes. Intestinal diseases, wet litter problems, and a drop in feed intake and growth are common consequences of an imbalanced microbiota. These problems will directly affect animal welfare, performance, and farm profitability.

Better Growth and FCR.

TechnoSpore® is a unique 2 in 1 probiotic that combines the advantages of Bacillus-based probiotics and lactic acid bacteria (LAB) to positively modulate the intestinal microbiota, including the suppression of pathogenic bacteria. This probiotic has been successfully tested under different conditions at research stations and practical farms worldwide. Already over 30 trials have been performed, of which 20 involved broilers. The broiler trials were done in Europe, Middle East, and South America and involved top conditions (high hygienic standards) and commercial conditions with pathogen challenges.

Enhanced Profitability.

The results of a broiler farm trial in South-East Europe with 640 one-day-old broilers (ROSS 308) demonstrated that animals fed with feed containing TechnoSpore® had a higher final body weight and increased daily weight gain (Figure 1). During the whole trial period, B. coagulans DSM 32016 administration was also able to reduce the feed conversion ratio (Figure 1). This research trial exemplary indicates that these zootechnical parameter improvements can enhance the profitability by 0.21 Euro per chick.

Conclusion.

TechnoSpore®-driven positive modulation of the intestinal microbiota and suppression of pathogenic bacteria directly impacts important zootechnical parameters in broilers, including FCR, daily growth, and mortality. The large number of trials done with TechnoSpore® reinforces the reliability and efficiency of this outstanding probiotic. More trials will follow shortly.
