Modes of Action.

Our effective range of feed additives and dietary feed supplements are specifically selected and developed to support animal health and productivity.

Direct Pathogen Inhibition

Due to probiotic-driven substances like cyclic peptides or organic acids that directly reduce or prevent growth of harmful bacteria by disrupting membranes or cellular processes.

Enzyme Production

Probiotic-produced digestive enzymes such as proteases, carbohydrases, and lipases improve feed breakdown which enhances nutrient availability, nutrient absorption, and feed efficiency.

Reinforced Intestinal Barrier

Strengthening of mucosal linings by supporting tight junction formation, immune response, epithelial regeneration, and mucous secretion. This mechanism prevents harmful substances from entering the blood system.

Competitive Exclusion

Outcompeting other germs for resources such as nutrients, space, or binding sites. This mechanism reduces the risk of non-beneficial or pathogenic overgrowth.

Stimulation of Short-chain Fatty Acid Production

Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) like acetic, propionic, and butyric acids are crucial for physiological processes, impacting gut and immune homeostasis, as well as brain, lung, liver, and bone health.

Immune Modulation

Microbial molecules stimulate immune function resulting in better immune regulation, response, and defense. Overall, this enhances the resistance to harmful bacteria and related infections.

BioPlus® YC is an innovative microbial feed additive that combines two powerful probiotics. These Bacillus strains—Bacillus licheniformis DSM 5749 and Bacillus subtilis DSM 5750—were carefully selected to improve nutrient digestibility and modulate the intestinal microbiota and are at the heart of BioPlus® YC’s action.

The probiotic microorganisms in BioPlus® YC work together to balance gut microbiota. Bacillus licheniformis and Bacillus subtilis function to increase the beneficial lactic acid microbiota while reducing the proportion of pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, enzymes produced by Bacillus subtilis increase digestibility and nutrient availability.

One of the important advantages of BioPlus® YC is its ability to withstand stress. The spore-forming microorganisms are thermotolerant, which allows them to survive standard pelleting conditions. BioPlus® YC is fully compatible with feed additives like coccidiostats and acids.

BioPlus® YC improves feed conversion and leads to increased performance in sows, piglets, pigs for fattening, turkeys, and calves. BioPlus® YC in young animal feed leads to animals with improved feed efficiency and growth performance.

The probiotic strains in BioPlus® YC are EU-registered and have targeted benefits for swine, turkeys, and calves. BioPlus® YC continues to have a positive impact on growth, feed conversion, and carcass quality in animals for fattening. BioPlus® YC consistently maintains a high quality and has been proven to be safe for both animals and the environment.

Start improving animal health and performance by unlocking the potential of improved nutrient digestibility and balanced gut microbiota. Experience the proven benefits of BioPlus® YC—a unique combination of enzyme-producing and microbiota-stabilizing microorganisms.

The weaning transition is a critical window for piglet development. When feed intake drops, gut integrity follows, creating a cycle of poor performance. Our latest research explores how the umami-rich profile of Kluyveromyces fragilis provides a stable, natural foundation to maintain appetite and support immunity during this high-stress period.

BetaTrace®: Securing the Future of Dairy Performance with Rumen Bypass Betaine.

Standard betaine is often lost to rumen degradation, limiting its ability to support transition cows when they need it most. BetaTrace® overcomes this challenge by complexing betaine with organic trace minerals, allowing it to bypass the rumen and effectively support liver health and metabolism. Discover how this dual-action additive increases methionine availability and boosts lactation performance while delivering essential minerals.
