RumiPro® Chol

The transitioning dairy cow faces many challenges that threaten the success of her entire lactation. Choline is an essential nutrient that is limited in a dairy cow due to rumen degradation. RumiPro® Chol provides the dairy cow with a protected source of choline that can help ensure the health and well-being of the cow and determine the amount of peak milk production.

Product Benefits.

Modes of Action.

Our effective range of feed additives and dietary feed supplements are specifically selected and developed to support animal health and productivity.

Rumen Escape

Strengthening of mucosal linings by supporting tight junction formation, immune response, epithelial regeneration, and mucous secretion. This mechanism prevents harmful substances from entering the blood system.

Fatty Acid Metabolism

Helps synthesize lipoproteins needed for fat transport or functions in the liver to move fatty acids in the liver, reducing liver stress, preventing fatty liver syndrome, and improving energy balance.

Methyl-group Donor

Methyl groups are vital for RNA and DNA synthesis, gene regulation, immune function, protein synthesis, and fatty acid metabolism. During growth and development, these pathways are highly active.

Targeted Support

A targeted combination of vitamins and/or minerals can support various metabolic, hormonal, and immunological processes in times of increased demand and compensate possible deficiencies.

Application Method.

Product Description.

Choline chloride is commonly used as a feed additive for monogastric animals. It performs several important functions, including fat transport. Historically, ruminants have not received this essential nutrient because it is almost completely degraded in the rumen. With rumen-protected choline, the world of ruminant nutrition is taking a quantum leap forward.

RumiPro® Chol, a rumen-protected form of choline chloride, overcomes this limitation and offers unprecedented benefits—especially during a cow’s transition period. Now dairy farmers can effectively utilize this essential nutrient that plays a critical role in many metabolic functions.

The transition period in the life of a dairy cow is a high-risk time marked by significant metabolic changes. Calving results in a sharp increase in energy requirements, while feed intake can decrease by more than 25%. This results in a significant energy deficit that the body automatically tries to compensate for by releasing fat.

However, the liver, a cow’s metabolic powerhouse, often struggles with this influx of fat, leading to a buildup of triglycerides, a condition known as fatty liver syndrome. This condition has a serious impact on the health and performance of young cows and significantly increases the risk of culling early in lactation.

The rumen-protected choline chloride in RumiPro® Chol helps synthesize lipoproteins necessary for fat transport in the blood, reducing liver stress and preventing fatty liver syndrome. In addition, improved choline supply in the last weeks of pregnancy has a positive effect on prenatal calf development and colostrum production.

RumiPro® Chol is easily incorporated into premixes, mash concentrates or directly into total mixed rations, making it a seamless and efficient addition to any dairy nutrition program. With RumiPro® Chol, you can effectively manage your herd’s health, prevent debilitating diseases, and ensure a thriving next generation. RumiPro® Chol gives your dairy herd the best start to lactation.

BetaTrace®: Securing the Future of Dairy Performance with Rumen Bypass Betaine.
