Weaning is a vital phase in calf rearing as it is crucial in determining whether rearing will be successful. Yet it is often overlooked. Growth slumps around weaning are common on farms and poor results can undo any successes achieved before weaning during this period. There are many reasons for poor weaning, including weaning that is done too early, too quickly, or not gradually enough.

RumiPro® Wean provides targeted support for calves during the weaning process, helping the transition from milk to solid feed. The carefully selected combination of ingredients helps to promote rumen development, improve vitality, and reduce immunosuppressive factors, including exposure to mycotoxins.

RumiPro® Wean contains TechnoYeast, a hydrolyzed yeast derived from the yeast strain Kluyveromyces fragilis and provides highly functional ingredients like essential and palatable amino acids, valuable nucleotides, and beneficial yeast cell walls. TechnoYeast, along with sodium butyrate, promotes rumen development and provides valuable nutrients.

Young calves are more susceptible to the effects of mycotoxins than adult ruminants due to their underdeveloped rumen. Moreover, high mycotoxin contamination can significantly impair the immune function and thus reduce weaning success. Calf feed is high in grain, soy, and fiber content—all potential sources of mycotoxins—and the contamination of calf feed with mycotoxins should not be underestimated. To combat this, RumiPro® Wean contains a highly effective mycotoxin binder, B.I.O.Tox® Active Core.

Combining highly bioavailable minerals like E.C.O.Trace® Zinc, valuable antioxidants, and a bioavailable marine mineral helps support the immune function, strengthen the intestinal epithelium, and maintain beneficial rumen conditions.

Thanks to its unique blend of ingredients, RumiPro® Wean makes weaning easier and improves performance and animal welfare. Don't underestimate the impact of lost growth potential. Start improving your weaning process with RumiPro® Wean today!

Feed Intake First – The Top Priority.

The weaning transition is a critical window for piglet development. When feed intake drops, gut integrity follows, creating a cycle of poor performance. Our latest research explores how the umami-rich profile of Kluyveromyces fragilis provides a stable, natural foundation to maintain appetite and support immunity during this high-stress period.

BetaTrace®: Securing the Future of Dairy Performance with Rumen Bypass Betaine.

Standard betaine is often lost to rumen degradation, limiting its ability to support transition cows when they need it most. BetaTrace® overcomes this challenge by complexing betaine with organic trace minerals, allowing it to bypass the rumen and effectively support liver health and metabolism. Discover how this dual-action additive increases methionine availability and boosts lactation performance while delivering essential minerals.

Managing Large Litters

Managing Large Litters.

Breeding progress has delivered bigger litters—but not without costs. Sow breeding goals have changed over the past few decades with a focus on selecting higher ovulation rates and large litter sizes. Not only does this place increased demand and pressure on sows, but large litters increase birth weight variabilityt, competition at the udder, and pre-weaning losses. This newsletter explains practical, science-based ways to support sow health, colostrum and milk supply, and early piglet care. You’ll also see how water-based delivery and farm-individual feeding concepts can boost uniformity and weaning success.
